As soon as I found your page, I immediately developed a love-hate feeling about your work, and by extension, you. I also struggled with some self-worth angst. I wanted to post pictures of my recipes, but now that I've seen what you've done here, I am compelled to meet the bar you've raised.
I was just going to make a couple recipes and snap pics with a phone. Now I'm setting up lighting and staging, digging my spritzer out of storage, and agonizing about color choices and finding more photogenic plates and bowls, and making camera decisions. Thanks for motivating me without even knowing me.

Food is such a beautiful subject, it provides all the colour, texture and shape (well that is until we humans butcher it) I'm happy to set the bar and for anyone to match it, go forth and cook, create beautiful imagery and remember, you will not master it straight away, don't get discouraged, like anything worth doing, you have to earn it.
