The thickness of the sourdough looks right on, I hate it when they are too thick and you can barely bite through them without bloodying up your gums. But too thin and its barely an element on the plate so that looks nice.
I probably would have gone with a bigger plate for this, and a more square shaped one since the dish appears to be circular in nature. Contrasting food to plate shapes are a great way to make a great dish look even better!
